K-pop fans often make one specific person their punching bag because they know no matter how much people speak against it, they can start their hatred with the same enthusiasm next time.
We, the International K-pop fans have poured our love and time listening this genre of music, by appreciating it and acknowledging it, but sadly, most of K-pop won’t do the same for us, and it’s high time we must realize it.

We all, particularly the black people, demand a proper apology. On one hand KISS OF LIFE did apologize two times, but it does sound shallow, to be very honest and it seems like they did it just to prevent themselves from getting cancelled or called out further, as another member Julie, did mouth the N-word previously.
All of these were unnecessary, while I understand a person can be unaware, but when you repeat it, it shows that you’re knowingly doing it. Racism has been a very grave concern, even in the recent times, and using it as an aesthetic, just to fit it into your stereotypical view of that particular culture is purely disgusting.
Anyone’s culture can’t be your aesthetic, it isn’t that shallow. It took them decades to fight against the wrongdoings they have faced, and is facing till date. It took us 200 whole years to have an independent India.

While I get it why someone is insecure, but sometimes it’s too much. Today, I was talking with a classmate who listens to K-pop, but doesn’t call herself a “K-pop fan”. I asked her why and she said that she feels bad because they’re earning in millions, some even being of her same age and while she’s just a college student.

So, is your life goal only to earn money anyhow? Of course they’re earning money, of course they’re talented and famous, but have you put atleast one percent of the effort like them? No. Then how can you expect to be as rich and as popular as them. I don’t think this can be a reason or excuse for not being a K-pop stan.
You’re a K-pop fan because you chose to be one. Love them because you appreciate their music and dance, and if their life goals differ from that of yours, then there’s no point to be insecure.
I mean, why is there a question of loyalty in the first place? Can a person not be a fan of more than one or two groups? It is a parasocial relationship after all, between the idol and the fans. Of course, some idols, some groups hold a special place in our heart as their music, thoughts and messages might have helped us during tough times by providing comfort, reassurace and strength, but that does not restricts us from being fans of other groups.
In this context, I’d like to add this issue where repeatedly, Indian culture has been mocked too, and just like Black fans felt disrespectful, Indians too did and demanded apologies. What amazes me that they continue to do this repeatedly.
This is actually what happens when fans think they own their idols. Of course, they perform for us. They are what they are because of their fanbase but one must remember that its their passion, hardwork and dedication which made them what they’re today. Sure, when you’re a celebrity, you’ll get hate, you’ll get criticized, but for reasons as insignificant as this? Not fair. I’ve even seen people defending Seungri, making fanpages for him.
Was there any reason to say the N-word? No.
With the recent controversies of certain K-pop idols saying the N-word, a racial slur, a very disrespectful thing for the black people, I think its high time to realize that most K-pop idols don’t care about the rest of the world, if they have massive popularity in Korea.
What may be too many groups for you, may not be too many for others. Everybody has different definition of being a fan. So, it’s better to quit the game of “who is superior than whom” between solo group stans and multistans, and just enjoy music and appreciate it for the sake of it.
To be honest, they won’t apologize, and even if they do, it won’t matter. As a popular group, with a massive fanbase in Korea, their career is secured. The only reason KIOF apologized is because they realized they don’t have a strong fanbase in Korea to keep them going.
Was there any reason to conduct such a theme in a birthday live? No.
How conservative the Japanese people really is? And the government?
Was there any reason to make the curry song? The answer is yet again, no.
I don’t know why certain K-pop fans can’t just appreciate idols without thinking, “wow, they’re so better than me, I feel insecure.”
In a world where massive issues like racism are overlooked delibartley just because their priority list got ticked, why would they even consider Indians? We’re just like shadows to them, we don’t exist.
I’m speaking about Chan’s situation here. You all know how he is, as a person. He is kind, comforting and loving, and that’s the prime reason you all pick on him. K-pop stans in general don’t deserve such kindness, it seems, because I’m confirmed, you people can fight over the dumbest argument ever.
I will never understand the concept or idea of multistans being not loyal enough as they stan multiple groups.
On the other hand, BLACKPINK members, Jennie, Rose and Lisa, haven’t apologized yet, whose video has been recently leaked saying the N-word.
And the reason why this hate for Chan continues is that they know it won’t be an issue. People will speak against them, and after a while it will be forgotten, he will probably “apologize” or remain upset and this cycle will go on and on.

It’s a personal choice of a person, to enjoy music or content from different groups and idols. It’s a personal choice to know or not know everything about their favourite groups. One can be a fan both by knowing or not knowing all possible information about a group.
